Monday:
Build- Attempting to sync fingerprint sensor and the match of the fingerprint to the appropriate access result on screen
Tuesday:
Test- Testing the connection of Arduino and built-in LED to the fingerprint sensor and the match of the fingerprint
Wednesday:
Because we had long run out of plywood we had to improvise our ceiling by gluing two pieces we laser cut from a spare piece of wood together.
Build- Sending a specific character from Arduino to the MIT App Inventor interface to change screens when a certain result occurs on the fingerprint
Thursday:
Our previous pieces fit too tightly, so we remodeled the hinge to be slightly smaller so that it can fit better and also changed the hole from a circular one to a hexagonal one to avoid support filaments on the inside so that our rod can fit without being blocked.
Friday:
Build- When developing the user interface, we concluded that it might be more realistic for a slight human interference during the process of confirming a fingerprint match, rather than full automation for opening the lockbox, although pending more tests and refinements to attempt again at more automation
Our goal for next week will be to have our nuts and screws delivered by monday and finally put together the box after redesigning our door system. We also aim to have the fingerprint sensor result connect to the screens of the interface.
