I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a passion for helping individuals, couples, and families build healthier relationships, better understand themselves, and navigate the challenges that life brings.
I earned my Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling, with a major in Marriage & Family Counseling, from Wright State University in 2009. Prior to that, I earned my Bachelors of Arts degree in Sociology from Miami University in 2003. My education, combined with extensive professional and personal life experience, has shaped the way I approach counseling and the relationships I build with my clients.
Throughout my life, I have developed a deep respect for the importance of healthy relationships, meaningful connection, and overall healthy mindset. Whether those relationships involve a spouse, partner, family member, friend, co-worker, or even the relationship we have with ourselves, I believe they can have a tremendous impact on our emotional health and overall quality of life.
I have dedicated much of my career to helping individuals, couples, and families better understand the patterns that influence their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships. My goal is not simply to help clients work through the immediate problem that brings them to counseling, but to help them develop greater insight, healthier communication, stronger boundaries, and practical skills they can carry into other areas of their lives.
My counseling style is Person-Centered, supportive, collaborative, and individualized. I believe people need a space where they can speak openly and honestly without fear of judgment. At the same time, meaningful growth sometimes requires being challenged to look at situations from a different perspective, recognize unhealthy patterns, and consider what is within our control to change.
I consider it a privilege to walk alongside people during some of the most difficult, vulnerable, and transformative seasons of their lives. My hope is that clients leave counseling not only with relief from the challenges that brought them in, but with a greater understanding of themselves, increased confidence, and the tools needed to create healthier relationships, positive coping skills and lasting change.
On a personal note, I have been married for 25 years and am the mother of three children. My own life experiences have given me an appreciation for the joys, challenges, transitions, and complexities that come with marriage, parenting, family, and relationships. While every person's story is unique, I believe both my professional training and life experience contribute to the genuine, practical, and compassionate approach I bring to counseling.
