Please follow the link to participate in the project:
Dear Parents,
In cooperation with your child’s school, we would like to invite your child to participate in a study called the TWU Family Project. We are inviting all fifth graders and their parents at your child’s school to participate. The TWU Family Project is a study of positive and negative aspects of friendships, including conflict management, and how families may influence children’s peer relationships.
If you are interested in participating with your child, please sign and fill out the interest form and return to your child’s teacher or complete the online option (link above). We will be in touch to schedule a time for you and your child to complete an interview over the summer, either online or in person if you’d prefer. Please note there is a potential risk of loss of confidentiality in all email, downloading, electronic meetings, and internet transactions. You and your child each will receive $40 for participating. Participation in this study is voluntary, and you may stop participation at any time. Follow-up opportunities for an additional $40 are available. We believe the study will provide valuable insights into children’s friendships, which in turn will benefit parents, teachers, schools, and children. We welcome your questions; you may contact us at 940-898-2346 or email TWUFamilyProject@twu.edu.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Lisa H. Rosen, Ph.D.
Linda Rubin, Ph.D.
