Bert Crawford, the son of Ford Crawford owned the Crawford Funeral home, also known as Citizens Undertaking. His wife Rosetta Crawford died in 1910. All of Quakertown came out for Rosetta’s funeral procession, pictured here on Bell Ave with TWU’s Old Main building in the background.

“Rosetta Crawford, wife of Bert Crawford, a well known young negro living on the corner of Withers street and Bell avenue, died Tuesday night with a complication of diseases. She was about thirty years old and had been in critical condition for the past several weeks. Bert Crawford, her husband, is an employee of the L.T Millican Lumber Co. and is well liked by the white-citizens.”
