Sarah Gamblin, M.F.A.

Key Faculty

Sarah Gamblin, Professor of Dance, has been teaching undergraduate and graduate student course work, mentoring graduate students’ culminating projects and professional papers, and serving on PhD committees at Texas Woman's University since 2002. As a professional dancer and choreographer Gamblin has worked in nationally recognized projects collaborating with Bebe Miller Company, Clancy Works, Dance Exchange and Flatlands Dance Theatre, among others. In 2018 Gamblin participated in the U.S. Department of State-sponsored cultural diplomacy tour with Dance Motion USA. As a performing artist with the Bebe Miller Company, she interacted with communities, teaching dance and performing in Colombia and Peru, targeting underserved, racial, ethnic and sexual minority populations. In 2019 through her role as professor at TWU, Gamblin co-conceived, organized and produced the social-practice art project Learning the Land Walking Tour, a collaboration with San Antonio based artist Molly Sherman. This project was a participatory art project gathering 13 TWU interdisciplinary student and faculty partners to study and interpret sites on or near TWU campus. This project culminated in a Walking Tour with an accompanying guide and map (designed by Sherman.) The tour was led by students and faculty participants and included dance projects created by dance students that interpreted the various sites.
