Dr. Gardner’s research has focused on interdisciplinary projects which incorporate technology and individuals from different fields in community-centric, artistic, and inter-professionally focused contexts and experiences including his recent work concerning local pollinator gardens and the role computer science students can have in supporting these gardens through technical projects, data collection, and community awareness efforts. He is passionate about incorporating open-source technologies and real-world problems and experiences into his courses and pushing his students to not only consider “how” a problem should be solved, but also “why.”
