SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
Students from the Cadoria class participated with a lot of enthusiasm in the annual Talent FUN competition (in its 114th year and with the theme of "I Love Team Taiwan!). The success of this performance can largely be attributed to the astute teaching of their homeroom teacher, their weekday schedule of practice, and the support that they had from their parents. We would also like to extend a special thank you to the Changhua County Government, which hosted this important event and encouraged students to share their talents on stage as part of a real situation. Through effective teamwork Cadoria class was awarded the "Best Tacit Understanding Award".
PARENTS
AND
KIDS
TIME
The Equal Parenting Promotion between Mother and Father Symposium was successfully organized at Xihu Primary School. Let's get to know the importance of joint responsibility in the rearing of children. The seminar set out to question the old roles of parenting and stimulated both parents to take an active and supporting role in their child’s growth and education, in all domains: academic, emotional, and social. Under the guidance of family counselors and educators, seminar participants took part in thought-provoking lectures and open discussion on topics that included work-life balance, co-parenting strategies, and the effects of shared parenting on children's welfare. Parents were engaged in parent reflection sessions and sharing parents' stories, and learning from each other in practical ways to support each other as parenting partners.
It was a powerful reminder that equal parenting builds strong families and healthy children.
SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY
The year has been one of glory for Xihu Primary School, their anniversary having been celebrated, marking years of nurturing young minds and excellence in learning in Changhua County. For this auspicious anniversary, the school also celebrated its Sports Festival-an event that passed with a vibrant charge where school talents really came forth to keep the spirit of the school alive, endearments of joy, and serious acts of endurance.
These celebrations were packed with colorful performances, fierce competitions, and deafening cheers from teachers, parents, and fellow students—all witnesses to the school's belief in all-round development. And with this, I left with an ardent sense of community bonding and a lasting memory of education that Xihu Primary School continues to uphold.
Mother’s Day was truly a day of reflection on the love, care, and sacrifices that mothers make for their families. There loomed an air of joyfulness, creativity, and appreciation throughout the event. There were performances by students accompanied by handmade crafts and touching messages of thanks from the hearts of these little children. The students expressed all the love and gratitude for their mothers/mother substitutes through song, poem, and dance performances as well as dramatic ones. The walls of each classroom were adorned with colorful works of art and signboards containing messages of love, turning the school into a cozy atmosphere of celebration. Through this very reflective event, the children pondered the significance of family and appreciation, while the ties between schools and homes grew stronger in a mutually evaluated way.
JUSTFUN English Day -special day English Day, celebrated as part of the school day, is devoted to the use of English for fun, interactive, and educational purposes. It is designed to surround students with English in a manner that mundane classes cannot, and to build confidence, fluency, and a healthy attitude toward language.
It was such a delight and rewarding experience to host English Day at Xihu Primary School. Though a local teacher and I hoped to bring some life to English outside the classroom, it was my students who took the idea and ran.
From flipping bottles to sounding out words, to spelling competitions and seeing how many animals and fruits they could name in English, the students were fully involved. It was so rewarding to watch even the most timid students become confident and have fun speaking English.
A lot more than just games, the day pumped real life into language and made it fun. It was a great reminder that kids learn best when they feel free to explore, to mess up, and to have fun in the process. I can’t wait for the next one already!
