Despite its size, the school boasts a big heart, driven by its kind and supportive staff. Since we’re a smaller campus, we’re a tight-knit group—everyone knows everyone, which creates a really supportive environment for the kids.
We try to keep things balanced here. One minute, the students are in our bilingual programs or working on programming, and the next, they’re out on the courts for tennis or practicing the ocarina and violin. We’ve been recognized lately for our English programs and our overall school evaluations, but for us, it’s really just about making sure the kids have a solid, well-rounded day.
We’re also big on getting out of the classroom. Whether it's exploring the local farms around us or heading out on school-wide trips, we want the kids to stay connected to their roots while seeing what else is out there. It’s a grounded place to work, and we just focus on making sure the kids feel ready for whatever comes next.
Every semester, we embark on a fun and enriching school trip to various destinations. These trips are essential for our elementary students' development. They provide hands-on learning experiences that ignite curiosity and creativity. These excursions not only enhance their knowledge but also foster social skills and teamwork as they bond with peers and teachers. Overall, school trips connect classroom learning with real-world experiences, creating lasting memories and enriching their education.
At YFES, we’ve celebrated plenty of incredible moments, but the School's Anniversary is the one that truly brings us home. It’s that one time of year when our whole community—parents, grandparents, teachers, and even the principal—really gets to slow down and assembles to reaffirm the school's commitment to excellence and recognize the collective efforts that make our school a home for learning.
