Hello everyone! I'm glad you're here ♥
Train students to introduce school facilities in English.
Practice scripts and spontaneous speaking.
Welcome visitors and interact with them.
Unlike classroom-based practice, school tours provide students with opportunities to communicate with real audiences beyond their usual learning environment. In these authentic situations, students are encouraged to use English more spontaneously and meaningfully, rather than simply following structured exercises or rehearsed dialogues. This real-world interaction challenges them to think on their feet, adapt their language to different listeners, and express their ideas clearly and confidently.
As a result, students develop a stronger sense of purpose in learning English, as they can see its practical value in connecting with others. Their confidence gradually increases with each interaction, helping them become more comfortable speakers and more independent communicators. Ultimately, school tours transform language learning into a dynamic and purposeful experience, bridging the gap between classroom knowledge and real-life application.
This episode will take you on an immersive tour of our school, giving you a glimpse into its unique atmosphere, culture, and daily life. Nestled near the sea, our school offers a distinctive environment that sets it apart from others. From the refreshing ocean breeze to the way the seaside location influences our school activities and traditions, there are many fascinating aspects to discover. Throughout this journey, you’ll learn about the special features that make our school truly one of a kind, from its breathtaking views to the unique opportunities it provides for students and teachers alike.
Clay Art:
The white part of the crab sculpture was made by students at our school! They used clay to show special things about Shengang, like the wind turbines and birds. This art helps us show the world what makes Shengang special.
Tidal Zone:
The tidal zone in Shengang is where small animals like fiddler crabs, starfish, and hermit crabs live. When the tide goes out, they come out to look for food. This shows us how animals live and survive by the sea.
Birds and Migration:
Shengang has wetlands that are important for birds traveling long distances. In the winter, birds like spoonbills and egrets stop here to rest. This teaches us that Shengang is a special place not only for people but for birds too.
Wind Power:
Shengang has big wind turbines that use the wind to make electricity. This electricity is clean and helps protect the environment. The wind turbines remind us of how important it is to use clean energy to take care of our world.
Oyster Farming:
Many people in Shengang grow oysters in the sea. These oysters help clean the water, and the people of Shengang have been farming oysters for a long time. Oyster farming shows us how people and nature can work together.
Wetlands:
Wetlands don't just help animals; they also protect the land from big waves. The wetlands are important for keeping nature safe and healthy.
Located near the sea, our environment is shaped by openness and possibility. Like the ocean, learning here is continuous and ever-expanding. Students are encouraged to move beyond their comfort zones, explore new ideas, and express themselves freely—especially through language.
This space symbolizes more than just play; it represents a journey. A journey where students are supported, guided, and inspired as they navigate their way toward becoming confident, curious, and capable individuals.
Bilingual Signage & Campus Communication
Using both Mandarin and English in School signs, Announcements, Notices and Learning materials.
What may seem like an ordinary staircase is transformed into an engaging learning space—where curiosity is sparked, and learning happens effortlessly. Without pressure or formal instruction, students absorb language through constant exposure, allowing words and expressions to become part of their everyday thinking.
The School Oval is a spacious, open area designed for both learning and fun. It is a central part of our school where students can take Physical Education (PE) classes, practice sports skills, and enjoy outdoor activities. The oval includes a basketball court, perfect for practicing dribbling, shooting, and team games.
Students can also play soccer, run relay races, or participate in fitness exercises like stretching and jogging. Teachers guide the students during PE lessons to ensure safety and proper technique while encouraging teamwork, fair play, and a love for physical activity.
Students develop a strong sense of pride in their abilities as they successfully communicate with visitors using English in real-life situations. These meaningful interactions allow them to see the practical value of what they have learned in the classroom. As they express their ideas and are understood by others, their confidence grows and their fear of making mistakes gradually fades. Over time, they begin to view themselves not just as learners, but as capable English speakers who can communicate effectively. This shift in self-perception motivates them to continue improving and to use English more actively in different contexts.
