EFT Tapping.

EFT  (Emotional Freedom Techniques)

What is EFT?

You've heard of EFT, or maybe tried it?  It is a fast acting stress-reduction technique also known as 'psychological acupuncture'.  It is a very powerful practice where by tapping with your fingers on acupuncture points on your face and body while saying statements/phrases around emotions, thoughts, memories, beliefs, body sensations......there is a positive biological effect in your body.  You will feel a positive shift :-)  More than 20 years of clinical research has shown EFT positively affects a range of biochemistry in the body such as brain activity, cortisol levels, blood pressure, heart rate variability and even gene expression.

EFT is a blend of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and Somatic based touch and falls under the Energy Psychology umbrella.  There is now a solid body of clinical research on the efficacy of EFT.  A recent research paper on Evidence Based EFT states "300 research studies, review articles and  meta-analyses have been published in professional, peer-reviewed journals." (Click here to read about the research).

Evidence Based Clinical EFT is the standard of EFT that  has been used in these trials.  The results are impressive and bring so much potential for people to overcome and even heal from all sorts of psychological and physical conditions (oh I have used EFT on dogs too!)  With EFT we can address the root cause of limiting beliefs, behaviours, emotions and even physical symptoms in our bodies.

EFT is an excellent self care tool to incorporate into your everyday for stress and anxiety.  I can show you how to get the most out of EFT in your daily life.  As a trauma informed therapist I use EFT to address small or large traumas from your life in a gentle, safe way (no re-traumatising, no need to even talk about what happened).  Rather than these traumas being stored in your body with an undercurrent of angst in body & mind, working with EFT can reprocess the memory and leave a peaceful feeling in your body.  The research also shows that the results are most often lasting.

I have experience using EFT for stress, anxiety, depression, anger, burn out, chronic health conditions, insomnia, physical pain, emotional pain, "stuck-ness", overwhelm and trauma.

The Research

“Tapping’s not a placebo or a distraction, you’re actually changing your body’s chemistry.”

I am trained in Evidence Based Clinical EFT and did my trauma training in person with Dr Peta Stapleton.  I have been using EFT since 2008 personally and since 2018 within a professional capacity in the mental health arena.  It has been extremely effective for anxiety, depression, PTSD, pain (emotional and physical), phobias and dealing with all sorts of life issues.  A couple of years ago I became aware of the phenomenal scientific research into the effectiveness of EFT and started my training in Evidence Based EFT.  I have undertaken EFT for practitioners and Trauma Training and am currently in the process of attaining Premium Accreditation in Evidence Based EFT.

My experience of physical and emotional healing

Personally I have experienced tremendous healing through EFT.  EFT helped shift a chronic pattern of stress in my body that led to severe burn out, a chronic health condition and 3 years out of the workforce.  I processed PTSD with an Evidence Based Clinical EFT practitioner and freed up a whole lot of energy to heal and restore my health...I could feel shifts taking place in each session and big improvements in my health after each session.  I now have my health back!  EFT addressed anxiety, stress and my insomnia.  I also used EFT to reduce chronic nerve pain and deal with emotional challengesSince using EFT to address various issues in my life I now feel a deep sense of inner peace.  EFT has been transformational.

I conduct EFT sessions online or in person (Brisbane, Northside).
