TRUSD Food Distrution
Twin Rivers Unified School District, in partnership with Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services, continues to offer free, walk-up food distributions. Eligible families and individuals may select from available food items.
Registration and intake are located in Room S105 of the S-Building at Highlands High School, 6601 Guthrie Street, North Highlands. Please enter from Don Julio Boulevard near the Sports Complex.
Distribution Schedule:
Food distributions are held from 3:45–5:15 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of each month, except when the schedule changes due to holidays.

December 10, 2026
There will be no food distribution on November 26 or December 24 due to the holidays.

This is a choice-model food distribution, allowing families to select the items that best meet their household’s needs. Available items include fresh produce, frozen protein and pantry staples.
What to Bring
Reusable bags or a cart
A form of identification, recommended for registration
First-Time Participants
First-time participants will complete a brief intake form.
Household information is securely entered into the Oasis Insight platform and is not shared outside the food assistance network.
Eligibility:
Participants must meet the current TEFAP income guidelines established by the California Health and Human Services Agency.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Twin Rivers Unified School District invites families to a special virtual evening celebrating stories, culture, family reading, and inspiration with award-winning Salvadoran American children’s author and educator René Colato Laínez.
René Colato Laínez will share his journey from arriving in a new world as an immigrant child to becoming a dedicated teacher and published author. Families will learn about his bilingual books, his path to becoming an author, and the importance of believing in yourself and following your dreams.
Families will also have an opportunity to read along with René as he brings one of his bilingual stories to life!
