Agritechnology
After Ag Foundations, students will either move on to take Agritechnology or Animal Science depending on grade level and prerequisites met.
Agritechnology offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in the Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources career cluster
-provides technical skill proficiency
-includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge
-higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills
-work attitudes and general employability skills
-technical skills
-occupation-specific skills
-knowledge of all aspects of the Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources career cluster.
Students taking the Ag Tech class will take the AEST- Agritechnology Specialist Certification Exam. To pass, students must score 60% or higher. Passing students will receive 2 college credit hours for Agriculture Production Technology at most Florida Colleges.
