Foundations + Focus

Foundations Classes provide an introduction to a subject for students to explore while Focus Lessons allow more in-depth study. It’s a little more involved than After Care and just as much fun. (Tell your friends!) 

Financial assistance is now available for Foundations + Focus After School Programs for those receiving tuition assistance from the school, commensurate with the % award received. The minimum cost is $100 for Foundations classes, $45 for Focus (Private) lessons, and $15 for Focus (Semi-Private) lessons. All adjustments will be made through the FACTS incidental billing invoices.

 Foundations Classes

Foundations Classes are for groups of six or more students with registration available three times per year.  As long as the class meets its minimum enrollment requirement, it will run for that session.

• Most Foundations Classes are 60 minutes with the exception of Early Childhood Foundations Classes which are 45 minutes (developmentally appropriate for that age) and some K-8 classes which will be individually noted during registration

• Registration will be announced shortly before the start of each trimester with details on subjects offered

  • • If the class does not meet minimum enrollment, you will be notified after registration closes and alternate options will be provided

• At the conclusion of the first week of classes, registration fee(s) will be billed through the FACTS billing system 

  • • Registration is binding and non-refundable at this time

• Any students remaining on campus after the conclusion of the ten-minute Foundations Dismissal window will be automatically signed in to After Care and billed for the daily rate of $25

Foundations Classes | Session One | 2023-24

• Session One of Foundations classes will start September 11

• Registration opens on Wednesday, August 30 at 7:00 pm

• Registration closes on Wednesday, September 6 at 12:00 pm (noon)

Foundations Classes | Session Two | 2023-24

• Session Two of Foundations classes will start Monday, December 4

• Registration opens on Monday, November 13 at 7:00 pm

• Registration closes on Monday, November 27 at 12:00 pm (noon)

Foundations Classes | Session Three | 2023-24

• Session Two of Foundations classes will start Monday, March 11

• Registration opens on Monday, February 26 at 7:00 pm

• Registration closes on Monday, March 4 at 12:00 pm (noon)

FOUNDATIONS SIBLING CARE

• • Foundations Sibling Care is available for siblings who are both enrolled on the same day in two different Foundations classes with different end times to cover the gap between Foundations Dismissal windows

  • Once the Foundations Dismissal window for the later class has ended, After Care charges will begin for both siblings

    • For example, if Sibling One is enrolled in a class that ends at 4:00 pm and Sibling Two is enrolled in a class that ends at 4:30 pm, then Sibling One will be automatically enrolled in Foundations Sibling Care from the end of their dismissal window, 4:10 pm, until the end of their sibling's dismissal window at 4:40 pm; at 4:40 pm, After Care charges will begin.

FOUNDATIONS CLASS PICK-UP PROCEDURE

• • There's a 10-minute dismissal window after each Foundations class

    • • For example, if a class ends at 4:00 pm, the dismissal window will be 4:00 - 4:10 pm with After Care charges beginning at 4:10 pm

  • Anyone picking up from a Foundations class during the Foundations Dismissal Window should wait in the regular carpool carline starting with the inside lane and filling in the outside lane only as necessary

  • If you are picking up one student from After Care and another from a Foundations class, please follow the After Care Pick-up procedure

 Focus Lessons

Focus Lessons can be either private (one student) or semi-private (two to five students) with year-round registration. Once a student registers for Focus Lessons, they will continue weekly (or more frequently) the entire school year. As with Foundations Classes, the availability of semi-private Focus Lessons depends on minimum enrollment requirements being met.

• Focus Lessons are 45 minutes with the exception of Early Childhood Focus Lessons which are 30 minutes (developmentally appropriate for that age) 

• Registration for Focus lessons opens at the same time as Session One of Foundations classes

• When we receive your registration, we will reach out to you to confirm a start date

• Once Focus lessons begin, completed lesson costs will appear on your FACTS statement

  • Private lessons are $75 per lesson

  • Semi-private lessons are $50 per lesson

• If you would like to cancel or reschedule a lesson, 24-hour notice (one school day) is required in order to avoid charges for missed lessons

• After Care for Focus lesson students is included in the cost of the lesson on the day the lesson takes place

FOCUS LESSON PICK-UP PROCEDURE

• • Focus Teachers will pass the Dismissal Gate on the way to After Care

  • If a Focus student is not found at the Dismissal Gate immediately following their lesson end time, then they may be found in After Care and the After Care Pick-up procedure should be followed
