Senate Bill 57 is legislation that provides experienced and exceptional candidates the opportunity to complete a Commission-approved induction program at a faster pace than the full two years generally required to complete induction and earn a clear credential. With that in mind, the TUSD Induction Program offers the ECO pathway (one year to one and a half years) to those who have had two or more successful years as teacher-of-record.
Please make a copy of the application and complete it by following all instructions. Please also make a copy of the Site Administrator Form.
Please note:
The site principal for the year the candidate is applying for ECO must observe the candidate's teaching and complete a recommendation form.
The coordinator may also collaborate with the site principal and/or assistant superintendent of human resources to observe the candidate and begin a recommendation.
Next, the coordinator and assistant superintendent of human resources will review the application and documentation in order to make the final determination regarding candidate readiness for this option.
Instructions: Please click on the application and Site Administrator Recommendation. Once open, click the "Make a copy" button to create your own copy of the application and recommendation forms. *There is also a button below that will take you to both the application and recommendation form.
Complete the application -
1. Fill in site names and addresses or complete information about an intern program.
2. Gather two years of successful evaluations from a site administrator AND have your current administrator observe you using the Site Administrator Recommendation form (Tab2).
3. Write a thoughtful letter to the induction coordinator explaining why you believe you should be considered for an ECO position.
4. Send all documents to the induction coordinator, or share all Google documents with the coordinator.
5. Await news from the coordinator. *It can take two weeks to make a decision. The coordinator must review the documentation, share it with the assistant superintendent, and determine a possible observation.
