The Flawed American School System

As a student I have had many bad experiences at school, and anyone who has ever been to school can most likely agree that they have had one or two bad experiences with the school system as well. Most students absolutely hate waking up early and going to school. Ask any student and 9 times out of 10 they are struggling in some way, maybe they have trouble socializing or they can’t socialize because they've been given too much homework. I agree that practice is good if you want to learn something, But not everyone learns in the same way. It's so easy to go home, cheat on your homework, turn it in ,and get a good grade, but you learn nothing at the end of the day.
ENVIRONMENT: The educational system has an excessive amount of influence over kids. Schools obstruct children' ability to develop and learn at their own speed, as nature intended. Students are compelled to shift their motivations from learning at their own pace for their own gain and personal pleasure to achieving excellent scores. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, 14 percent of US schools are overcrowded. Overcrowded classrooms make it even more difficult to study and for educators to be effective at a time when students require more attention than ever before.
Seating, light, noise, and even color may all have an impact on learning ability. Students that study in a favorable learning environment are more motivated, engaged, and have better overall learning abilities.Intuitive drive to participate, create, and discover new ideas is heightened in a conducive learning atmosphere. Children may engage, shape their activities, rebuild their plays, and explore their own knowledge by creating and developing learning spaces in the classroom.Students' attention is improved, anxiety is reduced, and emotional and behavioral regulation is supported in a good classroom atmosphere. Learners are more likely to gain more motivation when educators build a pleasant learning culture, which leads to fantastic learning results.
MENTAL HEALTH: The mental health issue in our schools is a result of a lack of mental health education and resources to effectively address it. Teachers, who spend the most of their time with these pupils, aren't educated in mental health. Academic stress has been linked to worse well-being and an increased risk of acquiring anxiety or depression, according to research. Furthermore, students that are under academic stress do badly in school. This demonstrates how stress can prevent children from performing at their best.According to a new poll for the American Psychological Association, teens in the United States are more stressed than adults, with education being a major factor.
BULLYING: Bullying has a significant impact on how children and young people experience their everyday lives, whether they attempt suicide, suffer from chronic depression, choose to be home-schooled, or drop out entirely. The fact that NO ONE at these schools is doing anything to halt the bullying is a recurring topic. I'm implying that schools would naturally defend children who are most like the individuals who work in the institutions itself – middle-class, white, and heterosexual. The tormented impoverished kid with untidy hair, strange clothes, and an angry, campaigning mom will receive a different institutional response than the youngster whose dress and physical appearance mirror the world of the people in authority.I'm implying that schools would naturally defend children who are most like the individuals who work in the institutions itself – middle-class, white, and heterosexual. The tormented impoverished kid with untidy hair, strange clothes, and an angry, campaigning mom will receive a different institutional response than the youngster whose dress and physical appearance mirror the world of the people in authority.Consider this: When was the last time you heard of a privileged white child who wears all the brands and whose parents drive Lexuses being bullied? If such incidents do happen, they are uncommon, which is why class plays a role in how schools handle bullying on their campuses.
RACISM: Bullying is an issue that almost every kid and adolescent faces at some point throughout their school years. It's a sort of assault perpetrated by someone in a position of authority. Targeting someone based on ethnic disparities is one example of such power. Victimization is a danger for children and teenagers who are vulnerable or disadvantaged in our society, and victimization can escalate to bullying.Bullying or harassment based on a student's color, race, national origin, gender, gender expression, gender identity, sexual orientation, handicap, or religion may be illegal. vi Racial insults, homophobic or transphobic slurs, refusal to recognize a transgender person's identity, anti-Muslim or immigration statements, or comments concerning pupils' country or ethnicity are examples of bullying or harassment.
Communication skills are essential for a child's academic achievement. Students must be able to communicate successfully at all stages of school. Children who do not have well-developed communication skills risk falling behind their peers, getting emotionally overwhelmed, or withdrawing from school. These are just some of the few topics that the school systems need to improve. With open mindedness and new strategies we can make a better and smarter society/generation.
