I think the gym is worth going to because the gym has so many benefits, including looking good and many other things. At first the gym can be frightening. It is easy to be intimidated by the gym if you are insecure, don’t know a lot, or are maybe in denial that you even need to go to the gym. But the gym is no place for insecurity and fear, in reality, the gym is where everybody is in their own little world lifting weights and not caring about anything but themselves.
Other reasons why people might not go to the gym are because of their work schedule or just being lazy. Investing in a gym is also investing in your health. It can help you build strength, not just physical strength but a strong mindset as well. Studies have shown that people that workout and exercise have good memory and learning skills. According to a study done by the University of British Columbia, regular aerobic exercise, specifically “the kind that gets your heart and your sweat glands pumping” can increase the size of the hippocampus, the part of the brain that handles learning and verbal memory.
Another reason you should go to the gym is that you can make cool, motivating friends that help push you in the right direction. They tell you what you’re doing wrong or just encourage you to excel and grow. In addition to this, another study by Harvard Health studies has shown that working out regularly improves appetite while also reducing the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, dementia, depression, and many cancers.
The only downside I think of when it comes to the gym is that you would have to pay 10 or 20 dollars a month. Many people think that that's a lot of money to pay each month but truly people are out here buying $1,000 shoes and buying ridiculous amounts of designer clothes but wont invest 20 dollars into their health. The differences between strength training and cardio workouts are that strength training is more toning and getting stronger over time, whereas cardio workouts are just for maintaining weight and losing weight.Another mind blowing fact is that people think that running fast and doing lots of cardio will lose weight. Cardio workouts will help you lose weight if you don't do high intensity workouts. This means that walking for 10 minutes is enough for losing weight. It's about keeping your heart rate down and letting your body get energy from your fat for fuel. Additionally strength training is also good for you because stronger bones and enhancing mental health. Adding on the cardio workout benefits is that you get better sleep.
After being in the gym for 1 year the cardio workouts are more calmer and mentally challenging rather than weight lifting, weight lifting is more mentally and exhausting, what I mean by this is cardio workouts uses more breathing and oxygen to give more stamina and improves your endurance and weight training puts stress on your muscles tears your fibers up and repairs themselves stronger. In conclusion I think the gym is worth going because there are many benefits of going.
