There’s a new teacher on campus, Mr. Ruiz. Get to know more about him and his personal life like where he came from, why he came to teach here, and some fun facts about him.
Mr. Ruiz teaches government and economics. Growing up Mr. Ruiz wanted to be a firefighter, CHP officer or to join the military. One of his favorite childhood moments was when he and his family would gather together to eat and watch movies. His most memorable moment from his childhood was when he and his family traveled to a beach where he was warned to empty his pockets before he went into the water but he forgot to. He lost all his valuables he was holding in them, like his money and his cell phone.
Mr. Ruiz describes himself as quirky, funny, and motivated. He is most proud of his educational accomplishments. One misconception people often have about him is that he is a serious person all the time but when you get to know him you see the quirky side and funny side of him. He lives at home with his fiance and his two puppies named Penny and Cha Cha. He also has two cats named Lightning and Leopard. He went to high school at Granite Hills High School. He then went to UC Merced for his bachelor's degree and finished his credentials through CSU Stanislaus.
Mr. Ruiz came to Roselawn because he knew it would be a rewarding experience and it was a good opportunity to work with a diverse student population. His first impression of our school was that although it was small there was still a lot of heart involved and by this he means that the size allows for more communications for students from the teachers and staff here. His favorite thing about Roselawn is how students and teachers are able to be close to one another because of how small the school is, everyone just gets to know each other slowly .
If Mr. Ruiz could meet any living person still living today, it would be Danny DeVito because he thinks that he has a lot of personality, creativity, and could share some wisdom with him. If he could have dinner with any person from another time period it would be Dwight D. Eisenhower, to talk about the ways in which the U.S. solved so many technological advances during his presidency. He loves to teach so in 5 to 10 years he sees himself continuing to teach and being involved in many school activities and working more and more on helping students accomplish their goals.
He believes that one misconception people have about our school is that our school is a place you shouldn’t want to be, when in reality it is a place that provides many opportunities and much more help since the school is small the teachers here help way more. Mr. Ruiz thinks that what makes Roselawn so special is the size and how students are helped more to succeed and reach their goals; he sees that there is more effort in helping the students here at this school. Mr. Ruiz loves to teach and help all his students as much as he can, he wants them all to accomplish their goals in life that is why he is here teaching and plans on teaching for many years to come.
