Fable:
An Awesome Gaming Trilogy

What is the first thing you think about when you hear the word fable? I would assume you would think about stories you were told as a kid. I mean that is what a fable is but what if I told you that there is a game named Fable. This game is a series and as you might guess, it's about magic and mythical beasts.
There are three games in this series and possibly a new one coming out, each having a connection to the other but with very different stories. There are four games which are called “Fable.” ¨Fable: The Lost Chapter,” “Fable Two,” and “Fable Three.” Not much has been said about the new one to be released soon but we did get an ad. The ad was posted to the official Xbox Youtube page. It started off with a fairy flying by many things like swords, trees and the famous guild seal of the game. Once this fairy stops it is eaten, then the title Fable shows up. A music producer who worked on the Fable soundtrack tweeted ¨Please be good.¨
There is so much to this game and it is a very underrated series. There's lots of detail in this game, not only that, but it's a funny game too. It has a button specifically to make jokes that you can earn. They have the NPC do funny things and make jokes too. Sometimes the quests will be funny ones. They put easter eggs in the game so that a real fan could see the care with which it was created. In one quest in the third game, you have to get a book. This book is in a basement filled with a bunch of artifacts used in the first and second game. Even in the second game you can find the tombstone of a character in the first fable that passed during a raid. It's a perfect mix of both comedy and action.
The whole series is based on the early 1600s-1700s. Fable takes place in a country named Albion that's a lot like Great Britain, where heroes exist. There are four different kinds of heroes. The first kind of hero is a hero of strength, the second is a hero of skill and the third is a hero of will. Strength means using weapons like a hammer or sword. Skill is using any kind of gun or bow and arrow. Will is using magic-like powers of fire, ice or even bringing back the dead. The fourth hero has all three of those skills but it's rare to be a hero who can do all three. Of course, all the main characters are the fourth type of hero.
Throughout the game you can power up abilities by earning experience points. You earn these points by defeating your enemies or even through playing missions. You can also earn money through jobs, by renting out homes, or even from doing quests.
What makes Fable such a good game is being able to play as if you're in it. You have many freedoms in this game. There's so much land to roam around and not only that but in the last two games you can pick the gender of your character. You can also choose what they wear and style their hair. You can pick their names, weapons they have, the house they live in, and even the tattoos they get. You can't type out the names but you can get names by a certain type of NPC. The names you can choose all have a meaning to them.
Something great about Fable is getting to choose the path your character takes. You have the choice to make them good or evil. Even in the game one of the characters named Teresa tells you to be careful because every action has a consequence. That's what I really like about being able to choose where you end up in the game.
Another thing that is really cool about it is the three main characters being related, which is a really cool fact to find out. You also age throughout the game, in the first two games you start off as a kid and grow all the way until you’re 40. The third one you also grow but you start as an adult.
Even though it's a series, each game has a different story., which I love because in all three you're living the lives of the main characters. Fable the whole series has a 4.7 star review. One reviewer, who called himself Venomous Robo, wrote: ¨A great game that lets you choose your path, there’s always plenty to do whether it’s progressing through the story or just playing silly games for gold. I would highly recommend.¨I might be a little biased towards this game but it really is a good game to play.
Unfortunately, the Fable series is only available for Xbox 360. Even if you do have the game, I would recommend you taking the time to play it for yourself. It might be a good experience for you and you might like it.
