About Us

Mountain Pointe High School is a 5A senior high school in the Tempe Union High School District, serving students from the Phoenix metropolitan area.  We are a no-cut program and provide scholarships and supplemental music lessons for our students.  

The Mountain Pointe Band and Orchestra Programs includes a wide variety of performing ensembles for students, including our award-winning Lionhearts Marching Band, Advanced Music Studies & Performance (Wind/Brass), Orchestra Class and Percussion Class - as well as Jazz Band and Colorguard/Winterguard. We participate in both the ABODA and AzMBA marching festival circuits, the ABODA concert festival system, and the AMEA West Region for Regionals as well as AMEA All-State.  

Our Concert/Wind and Orchestra Ensembles continue to increase its number of Regional and State qualifiers every year. Best of all, the Lionhearts Marching Band won the 2022 Arizona Marching Band Association's Div1 State Marching Band Championship title, earning special awards for highest scores in Music, General Effect and Visual Flag Line.   

The MPHS Band Program is supported by the Mountain Pointe Band Boosters, Inc., a non-profit organization of volunteers who not only to raise funds, but also assist with chaperoning, photo and video production, uniform fitting and alteration, equipment transportation, meal provisions for game days, minor first aid, and much more!
