VENTURER • 2 3/4" brim with raw edge, 5 1/2" open crown, 1 1/2" ribbon with pleated bow In a world filled with IJ clones, we decided to do something a little different.
KTG took a high/baggy open-crowned gangster hat from the 40's & gave it a slightly wider 2 3/4" brim. We present it in outdoorsy colors, for an old time fedora thats a little more outdoorsy. Shape it yourself or have Kevin shape it for you.
A hand shapeable fedora with a raw edge and baggy crown.. order it in the classic IJ colors or choose any of our 23 fur felt colors.
The Venturer is not exactly an "Indy" hat.
It's more of an open crown, vintage style fedora that you can shape on the fly without steam. Think of it as a combination of a Film Noir Fedora with a baggy, open crown crossed with something a little more outdoorsy for more coverage.
The 2 3/4" brim walks the line between a Bogart Hat & something slightly more earthy. We widened the brim to 2 3/4" for more sun protection & a nore outdoorsy feel.
it is also available with a downturned, dimensional brim with tapered sides for a downturned, safari/outback look , although the standard snap brim allows to wear the brim three ways. (flipped up, downturned or front down)

The Skypiece is the perfectly designed hat for both ultra dressy and super casual wear. Somehow it can bring out the best in our dressiest customers, while looking equally stunning with jeans or a leather jacket.
       The crown is just a tiny bit high, but not "tall".
I use a beautiful 5" crown for the Skypiece,..Just enough height to make this hat look more elegant, more authentic, but never too tall.

Its subtle bound edge gives the brim that signature KTG custom look. My most successful design, perfect for ultra dressy or ultra casual. This is my own personal style for over 15 years.            (also available with a plain raw edged brim,"The Seville")

Some folks go "Open Crown" & hand shape it with a cattleman crease,             Others prefer their Road Star with our new Western Pinch-Front crease.
The Western PF Crown is a hybrid between a center crease fedora & a cattleman crease. Our Western PF crown can easily be modified to Cattleman crease by simply extending the side pinches. Most folks love it exactly as is!...a perfect blend of western and traditional dress style.

this has very similar specs to a vintage Open Road with a little cleaner bow design. My bow design was inpired by a vintage Borsalino Allesandria. Like many others, I grew tired of the traditional Open Road bow tails curling up on the brim. making the tails a little shorter prevents and fraying or curling of the bow
