I was born and raised in a small town in the Black Forest/Germany. Sport has always been a big part of my life: I was a member of the German national team in rhythmic gymnastics, participated in the Olympic Youth Camp in Seoul,South Korea, raced long distance running, triathlon and mountain biking. I love rock climbing and played ultimate frisbee in college. In the winter I ski and ice skate. I see myself as a lifelong athlete.

I got my Masters Degree in Germany and my teaching license here in the United States. 

I believe that every student deserves a PE teacher who can lead by example, a teacher who has embraced a lifetime of activity and athleticism. I love to work with a broad spectrum of students who have a wide range of ability and needs. Developing athletes need a teacher who can support them as they build their skills, highly athletic students deserve a teacher who can push them to achieve more. 

My childhood in Europe means I often have a different perspective. Growing up speaking only German and being raised in a different culture gives me unique insights into second language learning. This helps me to teach my students how to work well in a diverse world.

 Nací y crecí en un pequeño pueblo de la Selva Negra (Alemania). El deporte siempre ha sido una gran parte de mi vida: fui miembro del equipo nacional alemán de gimnasia rítmica, participé en el campamento olímpico juvenil en Seúl, Corea del Sur, corrí carreras de larga distancia, triatlón y ciclismo de montaña. Me encanta escalar rocas y jugué al Ultimate Frisbee en la universidad. En invierno esquío y patino sobre hielo. Me veo como un atleta de toda la vida.

Obtuve mi maestría en Alemania y mi licencia de enseñanza aquí en los Estados Unidos. 

Creo que cada estudiante merece un maestro de educación física que pueda dar el ejemplo, un maestro que haya abrazado una vida de actividad y atletismo. Me encanta trabajar con un amplio espectro de estudiantes que tienen una amplia gama de habilidades y necesidades. Los atletas en desarrollo necesitan un maestro que pueda apoyarlos mientras desarrollan sus habilidades; los estudiantes altamente atléticos merecen un maestro que pueda impulsarlos a lograr más. 

Mi infancia en Europa significa que a menudo tengo una perspectiva diferente. Crecer hablando sólo alemán y criarme en una cultura diferente me brinda una visión única sobre el aprendizaje de una segunda lengua. Esto me ayuda a enseñar a mis alumnos cómo trabajar bien en un mundo diverso.
