I am truly excited to join the AVID team as the AVID 9 Elective Teacher. I have been a member of the AVID site team for about 4 years now and have seen the truly amazing things AVID is and has done for our students. 

This will be my 14th year teaching, 13 of those years being at Thornridge High School. Prior to being a teacher, I held a career as a social worker for families pursuing reunification through DCFS. 

I grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA.  I received a Master's Degree in Secondary Education from Indiana University and a Master's Degree in Math Education from Aurora University. 

I am truly blessed to have found a career that I absolutely love. Education and the ability to learn is the most powerful tool a person can possess, and my goal is to help my students develop those skills so that they have unlimited possibilities and opportunities waiting for them!

When not teaching, I enjoy reading, learning new things and spending time with my husband, son and fur babies!
