History It teaches the Naihanchin stance (uchi-hachji-dachi). It is an erect position in which the toes are pointing straight and the legs and
hips are locked. Movements in the kata are lateral. This kata trains the karate-ka to tighten the legs and to defend against
opponents on both sides.

End bow by bringing feet together touching, hands remains crossed in-front of groin. (left over right)

Step right foot to left (west) into right foot tsuru-no-iwa-dachi
Step left foot out (west) into naihanchi-dachi,
lock stance and hips, hands still in front of groin.
Left hand kake-uke to side, right hand on hip
Right yoko mawashi empi-uchi into left palm, left arm horizontal
Left hand returns to hip, right hand prepares vertical on top of left hand at left hip.
(east)
Look right (east),
Pull right foot up to touch left knee,
step back down into naihanchi-dachi,
right hand gedan-barai to right side
Left hand nukite-tsuki to side, palm up, right hand returns to hip
Step left foot to right (east) into left foot tsuru-no-iwa-dachi
Right foot ashi-barai to right side (east) step down into naihanchi-dachi,
lock stance, left hand stays horizontal to side, palm up.
(north)
Look front (north),
left hand kake-uke to front,
Left hand gedan tettsui-uchi to the left
Right tate hiji ate-uchi,
left arm comes up horizontal across chest, fist close, thumb against body, in armpit
Right hand uraken-uchi,
left hands stays across chest, left knuckles touching right elbow (keep them there)
Look right (east)
Pull right foot up to touch left knee,
right hand comes to left ear,
step back down into naihanchi-dachi,
right hand uraken-uchi to side
Square to front, still blocking

Look left (west)
Pull left foot up to touch right knee,
right hand comes to right ear,
step back down into naihanchi-dachi,
right hand jodan tettsui-uchi to left, left hand returns to hip
Right hand prepares vertical on top of left hand at left hip.

Right hand prepares vertical on top of left hand at left hip, as right foot pulls up to touch left knee,
step back down into naihanchi-dachi,
double punch to side.
Right hand kake-uke to side, left hand on hip.
