Only when the last river has been polluted, and the last tree has been cut down, and the last fish has been caught, will we realize we cannot eat money. Enough of harming nature, its time to step forward and take concrete steps to safeguard it.
This event, Nature in my backyard focuses on cherishing every tit -bits that contributes in adding to the quality of the environment. A tree, a potted plant, a flower, a hanging plant of just the grass, admire all of these and capture them in your camera.
Share those pictures with us on a padlet link shared with you, and show that you care for nature.
This is an individual participatory event.
Entries are limited to two per school (One from Class 7 and one from Class 8)
Participants need to send his/her entry in JPG format only.
All entries must be original work, plagiarism will not be accepted as original work of the participant.
Padlet link for the event will be sent to the concerned school a week before the event. Participants are expected to upload their original work with a caption on the shared padlet.
Origami is beyond just paper folding, It's a Japanese artform that develops young minds. Origami requires children to figure out how to reach the final product, which encourages them to use their imagination. When creating origami, we use our fingertips to create detailed objects. This helps improve concentration.
In this event, students are expected to create an ecosystem using Origami. This activity emphasizes on bringing out original creativity and developing sensitivity towards varied ecosystems.
It is a solo origami competition.
Entries have been restricted to 1 participant from each grade.
(Grade 7 - One participant, and Grade 8 - One participant).
Theme: Forest ecosystem / Pond ecosystem
Participants will get 90 minutes (1 hour 30 minutes) to create their own Eco system from scratch on the spot using Origami.
Participants should preferably use recycled materials, waste materials like cardboard, plastic containers, cans, etc. (Kindly avoid using thermocol)
Participants should present their work with a slogan. Experimental as well as mixed techniques are welcome.
Participants should have a good internet connection to keep cameras and microphones ON throughout.
Materials required: Multi color's Origami papers, texture papers and innovative ideas for origami display , mix media on paper waste materials like cardboard, plastic containers, cans
Judging Criteria: Originality, Creativity and Presentation.
Dance drama has its roots deeply ingrained in Indian history of dances both folk and classical. The very famous Kuchipudi dance portrays stories taken from the life of Krishna and his consort Bhama. Dance drama has varied manifestations in Indian society ranging from classical Kathak Kali & Kuchipudi to lighter folk dances and nautankies. Dance-drama has been extensively used in Indian performing arts to convey a story through dance.
In Nature - Thespian, participants will present a story of forest/ nature conservation through the medium of a dance drama performance.
It is a solo dance drama competition.
Entries have been restricted to 1 participant from each grade.
(Grade 7 - One participant, and Grade 8 - One participant).
Theme - Conservation of Forest / Protection for Nature
Participants have to use authentic music, costume and makeup as per their selected theme.
The performance should range from 3-5 minutes
It's a live dance-drama competition.
Participants have to play music from their end to avoid internet lag.
Judging Criteria: Expressions, Choreography, Costume, Rhythm, Overall Presentation.
What could be better than the student themselves making a video on the burning issue of Climate Change ?This event will allow participants to make a 90 sec video and send that to us on a google form link sent to them. So put on your thinking caps on and start preparing.
It is a Group Competition.
Each school is limited to only one entry.
A Group should have one student from Grade 7 and one from Grade 8.
Main Idea: Effect of Climate Change:
Global challenges: (1) Loss of Biodiversity (2) Decrease in quality of food production (3) Impact of greenhouse gas
Each Team should submit a video of 90 seconds covering the main idea and any one of the global challenges mentioned above.
Participants need to include a sustainable solution to the selected global challenge.
All entries must be original work, plagiarism will not be accepted.
Acceptable file formats are MP4, MOV, WMV,FLV
The entries will be evaluated on the basis of content, creativity, time, solution of the problem given.
Flipgrid link for the event will be sent to the concerned school a week before the event. Participants are expected to upload their original work with a caption on the shared Flipgrid.
Judging Criteria: Content, Originality, Citation, Use of Media.
Vivaad is a prepared debate where participants will put forward their views on the topic- ‘Animals are better off without zoos’. Being a prepared debate, participants are requested to respect the given time limit. Each team will have a speaker speaking for and one against the motion, the cumulative scores of both the participants together will be the final score of a team.
It is a team debate competition.
Entries have been restricted to 2 participants from each school.
(Grade 7 - for the motion, and Grade 8 - against the motion)
Theme : Animals are better off without zoos.
Participants should not exceed time limit of 3 minutes
Judging Criteria: Content, Clarity, Diction, Presentation.
It is a solo competition.
Entries have been restricted to 1 participant from each grade.
(Grade 7 - One participant, and Grade 8- One participant).
Rap song should be based on the theme - ‘Climate Change’
Participants are free to compose their own rap song.
Performance should not be less than 2 min- and it should not exceed the time limit of 3 mins.
Costumes should be as per the performance.
Participants can use karaoke as background music for vocal music.
Participants should submit the final lyrics 1 week prior to the event on the given email id tsuspalava@tsuspalava.com
