Tan Sri Lee Loy Seng was a self-made businessman and entrepreneur from Perak who achieved success in the plantation industry. Widely respected for both his business acumen and generosity, he was among the philanthropists who contributed significantly to educational and charitable causes across Malaysia, benefiting people of all races and backgrounds.
He lived by strong personal values, which defined the way he conducted his life and work and earned him the respect of all who crossed his path. Despite his achievements and wealth, Tan Sri Lee remained humble and approachable.
Although Tan Sri Lee’s formal education was disrupted by the Second World War and later curtailed by family responsibilities, his passion for learning endured throughout his life.
The Foundation encourages its scholarship recipients to not only pursue lifelong learning, but to become persons of good character, displaying drive and determination. Scholars are also encouraged to give back to society, and to carry forward the Founder’s enduring legacy.
