Accelerated Reader (AR)

• Each student will have a quarterly individual AR point goal decided by a meeting between the student and myself. A sheet will be kept in the back of the yellow folder listing this information.

• Due to the variety of reading levels, students will have reading goals that match their personal abilities. (i.e. Some students will be reading third and fourth grade books, while others may be using late first and early second grade levels.)

• All quiz scores less than 80% will be deleted and will not count towards completion of the goal. Student achievement is recorded on sticker charts in the classroom.

• AR Reading Levels:   K-1     (blue)

                                         2      (red)

                                         3      (green)

                                         4      (brown)

                                         5      (yellow)

                                         6      (purple)
