Homework

Students will be able to review lessons in their Google Classroom.

They will also have assignments from time to time.

 Wea Ridge Elementary

1. All students in grades K-5 will have music classes for a half hour each week. This is 8 hours a semester. With holidays, delays, sickness, etc. I think it will be closer to 7 hours for the semester. I encourage parents to take their children to concerts and music lessons for more instruction. Many concerts in Lafayette are free and I will try to notify the students of these opportunities.

2. All students will learn notes, rhythms and musical vocabulary.

3. All students will sing, listen to music, and learn dances. (I believe having fun is an important part of music classes.) 

4. Short homework assignments or worksheets may be sent home if students need more help on concepts.

5. Students in grades 5 will be hopefully playing recorders in April.

James Cole Elementary

* Students in 5th grade will be playing recorder at James Cole Elementary in April and May. They will perform at the 5th grade graduation.

 Music.

1.  All students will learn notes, rhythm patterns and a vocabulary of musical terms.

2.  All students will sing, listen to music, and learn some dances during the semester. (I think having fun is an important part of music classes.)

3.  Short worksheets or assignments may be sent home if the students need extra time to learn concepts. 

Students may have a short amount of music homework during the year. This would be reviewing songs or rhythm patterns already learned. The 4th and 5th graders will have recorder homework starting in April.
