This is my 19th year at Mintonye and my 26th year teaching first grade. Over the years, I’ve also taught third grade and worked as a Reading Recovery teacher. I earned my B.A. from Indiana State University in 1998.
Outside of school, I’ve been married to my wonderful husband, Greg, for 26 years. We have two amazing daughters—Lily, who is a junior at Ball State University, and Katelyn, a senior at McCutcheon High School. Our family also includes a small Goldendoodle named Chewie who keeps us on our toes!
My Educational Philosophy-
I believe all children can learn when they feel safe, supported, and valued. Each child is unique and brings their own strengths and learning styles to the classroom. Because of this, I use differentiated instruction to meet students where they are and help them grow.
My goal is to provide a classroom environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, building confidence, and developing into lifelong learners.
