About Ms. Wittgren
I am very excited about having your child in my class this year. We are going to have a lot of fun while we learn! I grew up in Lafayette, but moved to Long Beach, CA after graduating from Purdue University, and earned my Master’s degree in Education Administration from WGU University. I have 3 grown boys: Kyle, Nick, and Jack.
Kyle graduated from Purdue in 2012. After living in Texas for several years, I am happy to say that he is back in the Indianapolis area with his wife, Brooke, and 18 month old son, Conrad. Brooke is having another baby & is due on October 14th. They are not going to find out if the baby is a boy or girl before he is born! We will all be surprised (I think they will have another boy!)
Nick and Ashley live in Florida, but Nick is in Columbus, Ohio until the end of baseball season. They have two boys: Jackson (7) and Camden (5) . Nick was drafted by MLB in the 9th round in 2012. He has played for the Miami Marlins, the Cleveland Indians (before they were the Guardians), the St. Louis Cardinals, the Kansas City Royals, and was with the Minnesota Twins organization his last year. Nick earned his retirement from professional baseball (13 years in professional baseball with 8 1/2 years in MLB.) He is currently a pitching coach for the Cleveland Guardians organization. He is coaching for their triple-A team, the Columbus Clippers.
My youngest, Jack, is 30 years old, and lives in Orlando, Florida. He is a logistics manager for a company called Thales that manufactures airplane parts/engines. He loves living in Orlando and has some wonderful friends surrounding him. He's not on social media..... hard on a mom who is long distance from her boy!
We moved back to Indiana in 2002. This is my 16th year at Woodland, teaching 4th grade, but I also spent several years teaching kindergarten at Mayflower Mill (when Mr. Sweet was also a teacher there.)
These are some of my favorite photos! Yes, I need to update the ones with the grandkids in them.... they grow so fast!
