Classroom Economy
5th Graders participate in a classroom economy. The idea is for students to learn the basic principles of economics and to learn that everything has some sort of cost associated with it. All students will have a job and receive pay for it. There will also be costs that the students incur. Examples of these costs are desk rental (camp site fee), insurance, restroom passes, and fines assessed due to behavior. Through the economy students are exposed to the skills required in balancing their expenses with their incomes. We are looking forward to implementing this in our room starting next week.
