Before you speak to, or craft an email to a teacher, coach, guidance counselor, department chair, professor, or other adult, here are some tips that will help you avoid embarassment and get your point across:

• How to address and speak to an adult
• How and when to send an email
• Why you shouldn't ask for extra credit
• The many other obligations instructors have (although this is written for professors, the same activities hold true for teachers as well)
