Purpose: The broad goal for this course is to help students cultivate the skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary to start and troubleshoot through intermediate woodshop projects. Students are not expected to have any prior woodshop experience and the information should be a helpful refresher for anyone looking to get back into the woodshop. This course is designed to give students hands-on experience with the woodshop power tools and machines and work on a project. The course also includes an opportunity to be checked out on fundamental woodshop machines: Planer, Jointer, Router, Drum Sander, Scroll Saw

Woodshop 102 Online Safety Checks

The following safety checks are to be completed before your in-person check out. If you are taking a class, they will be completed between the first and second class. If you are taking an ad hoc safety check, please complete your written safety check BEFORE scheduling your in-person check out.

In order to pass, you MUST get an 80% on all of your questions. You are allowed to take the test as many times as you need in order to pass the test. Please closely review any questions you miss before taking the test again and come prepared to the in-person class session. Our goal is ensure you are safe and informed about how to use the equipment effectively.
