About Me

My name is Megan Kruger, and I am a fourth-year Bachelor of Education (English) student at St. Teresa International University in Thailand. Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, I transferred to St. Teresa after beginning my teaching studies at Cape Peninsula University of Technology. Moving to Thailand to continue my education has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life, allowing me to grow both personally and professionally while developing a global perspective on education.

Throughout my studies, I have gained experience teaching and working with learners in a variety of educational settings, including government schools, private schools, intensive English programmes, online tutoring, and international learning environments. These experiences have strengthened my belief that every learner has unique strengths and potential, and that effective teaching requires flexibility, creativity, and a genuine understanding of students' individual needs.

My passion lies in creating engaging, student-centred learning experiences that encourage participation, confidence, and meaningful learning. I enjoy exploring innovative teaching methodologies, integrating technology into the classroom, and designing activities that make learning both interactive and accessible. As an English educator, I believe language learning should empower students to communicate effectively and connect with the world around them.

In addition to education, I have a strong interest in psychology and learner development. Understanding how students think, learn, and develop has become an important part of my professional journey and continues to shape my approach to teaching. In the future, I hope to pursue postgraduate studies in Educational Psychology while continuing to develop my career in international education.

Beyond the classroom, I enjoy travelling, learning about different cultures, reading, listening to music, and staying active through sports such as badminton, table tennis, swimming, soccer, and basketball. I believe that lifelong learning, cultural awareness, and continuous self-improvement are essential qualities for both educators and students. My goal is to become an educator who not only teaches academic content but also inspires learners to grow, succeed, and reach their full potential.
