Band parent chaperones are needed for many events to help activities run smoothly, efficiently, and to ensure student safety.
Step 1: Register to be a TR Band volunteer by first completing the NEISD Volunteer Criminal History Check.
Step 2: Check the Football Game and Contest Schedule on the Band App.
Step 3: Review Chaperone duties for information on what to expect to do at the event you are working.
Events: Football Games and Contest
Chaperon Duties: At each of the above listed events Chaperones will:
Accompany band on performances/events
Wear black pants or appropriate length shorts and a red Rough Rider Band polo shirt. Shirts are available for purchase from the BPA volunteers
Head chaperones will take roll call using the provided roster
Monitor student behavior on bus rides and while on location
Work as a team to provide assistance while on location i.e. accompanying students to and from restroom breaks, moving equipment, unloading and placing water jugs in the stands, refilling student water jugs during half time, unloading, passing out and collecting rain ponchos and seat cushions as needed
Responsibilities of Band Chaperones:
Make sure that all is done to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all students under their supervision while at events
Make sure that all students accounted for on departure from campus are on board their bus before departure from the venue
Any violation of student code of conduct should be reported to the Coordinator who will then notify the Band Director
