Congratulations to the TR Band Class of 2025!!
We will need many volunteers throughout the year to help our band! Opportunities include:
Hospitality: We need volunteers to help feed our students before weekday football games, and for some competitions. .
Chaperoning: We need chaperones for football games, contests and other events. We need parents to ride the buses, fill water jugs, move equipment and props onto the field, escort groups of students to the restroom, etc. Chaperones are needed for EVERY event where our band performs. No prior experience is needed, but you are required to wear an official Band Volunteer Shirt and black pants. This helps our students know who to go to for help, and also helps stadium personnel identify our official chaperones. You may chaperone up to four events, including Rough Rider Contest, to count toward your band fees, but we hope you'll volunteer for many more! To volunteer as a chaperone or to get more information, please contact Colleen Chapman (210) 780-9978.
Transportation: We need parents to help load and unload equipment and props to bring to the games and contests. We also need drivers. For more information, please contact Charlie Williams at (210) 216-3908.
Rough Rider Marching Contest. Our 42nd Annual Rough Rider Marching Contest will held on Saturday, October 4, 2025. This is a major fundraiser for our band and required hundreds of volunteers between students and adults. All band students are required to work this event and we encourage all parents to sign up as well. Stay tuned for information about the upcoming 42nd Rough Rider Marching Contest. Thank you to everyone who made the 41st Annual Rough Rider Marching Contest a success.
You may contact Michele Lopez at president@trroughrider.com if you need assistance with either of these.
