The IB Cohort of 2024 holds a special place in the history of LaGrange High School as the inaugural group to complete the full International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Affectionately known as the "guinea pigs," this trailblazing group of students embraced the rigor, curiosity, and global-mindedness that define the IB experience—and in doing so, they paved the way for future cohorts to thrive.
Their resilience, dedication, and spirit set the tone for what it means to be an IB learner at LHS. Graduating with distinction, members of this cohort have gone on to attend institutions such as Harvard University, University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Clemson, Auburn, Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State, Savannah State, and LaGrange College.
The Class of 2025 demonstrated what is possible when students are challenged to think critically, act compassionately, and reflect deeply. They leave behind a legacy of leadership, scholarship, and courage—and they will always be remembered as the ones who boldly went first.
Following in the bold footsteps of the inaugural class, the IB Cohort of 2025 at LHS continued to blaze trails and elevate the growing program with passion, purpose, and pride. Choosing the owl as their symbol—a natural predator of the guinea pig and a universal emblem of wisdom—this group embraced their role as scholars, leaders, and truth-seekers.
Together, they cultivated a strong sense of unity, building a tight-knit family within the cohort that supported one another through the challenges and triumphs of the IB journey. Their dedication and academic excellence were reflected in remarkable achievements, including two recipients of the prestigious QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship, and acceptances to elite universities such as Princeton, Duke, University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, and more.
Cohort 2025 carried the IB torch forward—showing what it means to learn with heart and intention. They leave behind a legacy not just of wisdom, integrity, and community that will continue to inspire future IB students at LHS.
