The Callaway High School Guitar program began in 2011. Since then it has grown from one class of 11 to Two beginning classes and one advanced class of about averaging about 40 per year. The CHS guitar ensembles performs 2 to 3 concerts a year performing music ranging from Mozart to Queen. Students complete cover song projects as well as original compositions and some are performed for live audiences.
Mr. Adam Wamsley
Mr. Wamsley is in his seventh year as Director of Guitar Studies at Callaway High School. He holds a bachelors degree in music education from Georgia Southern University. Mr. Wamsley grew up playing guitar and was in a rock band in high school "Chamberlain" and one in College "Green Means Go". While at Georgia Southern, he was a member of the Georgia Southern Wind Symphony, The GSU Jazz Ensemble, Southern Georgia Symphony Orchestra, GSU Trombone Ensemble, and Handbell Ensemble "Bells of Fury". Mr. Wamsley resides in Sharpsburg, Ga with his wife Cayla, his son Noah, and daughter Emma Charlotte.
