The Callaway High School Band Program has been existence since the opening of the school in 1996. The Band has a year round concert band that rehearses during the school day and performs 3 to 4 concerts a year. The concert band has received Superior and Exellent ratings at The Georgia Large Group Performance Evaluation. The concert band has premiered the piece "Zelda the Untold Legend" and recorded " Villianous: The Dark Side of Disney " by composer Harrison Dagenhart. Callaway also has a competitive corps style Marching Band that performs at all of the home and away football games, marching competitions pep rallies, parades and other local events. The Marching band rehearses on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 to 6:00.
Mr. Adam Wamsley
Mr. Wamsley is beginning his 10th year as Director of Bands at Callaway High School. He holds a bachelors degree in music education from Georgia Southern University. While at Georgia Southern, he was a member of the Georgia Southern Wind Symphony, The GSU Jazz Ensemble, Southern Georgia Symphony Orchestra, GSU Trombone Ensemble, and Handbell Ensemble "Bells of Fury". Mr. Wamsley resides in Newnan, Ga with his wife Cayla, his sons Noah,Ethan, and Landon and his daughter Emma Charlotte.
Mr. Tony Daniel
Mr. Daniel is in his 24th year of band directing and beginning his 2nd year as Director of bands at Callaway Middle School. He holds a bachelors degree in music education from Florida State University. While at Florida State he was a member of the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and the Marching Chiefs! Since then he has led many sucsessful band programs such as Armuchee High School, Stars Mill High School, and Landmark Christian. Mr. Daniel resides in Sharpsburg, Georgia.
Mrs. Samantha Hester
Samantha Hester is the Callaway High School Color Guard Instructor. She graduated from Troup High School where she was a Troup High Tigerette and a member of the THS Dance Team. Mrs. Hester resides in Lagrange, Ga. with her Husband Brent and two children, Kinley and Mason.
Mr. Christian Ogletree
This is Mr. Ogletree's fourth year as instructor for Callaway, and his tenth year teaching percussion. He is currently attending the University of West Georgia, where he served as Drumline captain from 2012-2013 and is studying for a music education degree. Along with many years playing in university ensembles, he also has extensive experience performing with different DCA and WGI groups over the years.
