Each month (typically the first weekend of each month) the Troop participates in at least one campout. Each campout has a theme defined by the Patrol Leaders Council (PLC). The Patrol Leaders Council is the youth leadership within the troop that assists the Senior Patrol Leader with planning and carrying out all troop activities. Some of our most recent campouts include stunning areas like Zion National Park and Kartchner Caverns.
We love to backpack up north when it's warm and in the desert when it's cooler. In February of 2022, Troop 3030 headed to the Superstition Mountains for a backpacker! Since then we have done many beginner backpackers and other backpacking trips.
Our troop loves hikes! During campouts, scouts organize hikes to see the beautiful sights and scenery around them.
From Eagle Projects to local conservation and general service we try to give back to the community. This includes staffing for locally-run events such as Special Day for Special Kids and placing American flags on Memorial Day.
The OA (Order of the Arrow) is an honor society of Scouting America that consists of dedicated scouts that best represent the Scouting Oath and Law. Scouts that meet these requirements are voted in by the troop, and participate in fellowship meetings and other service. This society allows scouts to gain helpful leadership experience.
Every few months, Troop 3030 and our brother troop, 30 combine to celebrate the amazing accomplishments of all our scouts. This ceremony is where scouts get recognized for finishing merit badges, ranks, and other important acievements.
A Camporee is a weekend adventure where you compete in scout skills against other Troops. Troop 3030 goes to one once a year. Scouts have lots of fun and also put their knowledge to the test!
