Boy Scouts of America has many council summer camps that offer merit badge programs. However, for those Scouts who do not want to participate in the standard merit badge program, they often offer High Adventure programs that offer a special experience to those seeking an adventure. They can include hiking, canoeing, and historically themed programs. There are also several High Adventure Camps such as Philmont, Florida Sea Base, High Knoll, and Northern Tier. Sometimes, troops or councils will schedule High Adventure activities of their own.
