Most of our studying will be done in class, however, there may be times when we are unable to finish an assignment, and students will be asked to finish it at home. Look for. quizzes on Fridays. I will always let you know what material to study for the quiz.

Hola,
Bienvenido a la Clase de Espanol! Welcome to Spanish Class.
En mayo/junio , we will digress from our textbook Expresate, and students will work in a special workbook (Spanish skills for Success). This workbook goes over basic grammar forms and has the students writing and speaking more Spanish. If time allows, we will try to add a study of the hundreds of missions and churches in California. Students will choose one mission and report on its history.
On Fridays, I will continue to read he book Esperanza Rising to the class. This book is about a wealthy Mexican family who is forced to take refuge in California where they become farm workers. The main character is a girl named Esperanza who has lived an entitled life and must learn how to do menial tasks to help her family survive.
We will have weekly workbook assignments and quizzes. The students will always know what material to study and what day of the week they will be quizzed. Usually, they will have a quiz on Fridays.
To celebrate learning achievements, we will occasionally play Spanish Bingo. The students love to work on Duolingo, and it has become a regular experience on Wednesdays. This a computer program that offers students the opportunity to practice Spanish conversation. They love it and are very successful.
As I look back on our year together, I am so proud of their accomplishments. The reports they have written, the vocabulary and grammar they have learned is amazing. They have come to the classroom each day ready to learn...a special joy for me. I look forward to teaching these bright students next year as they continue to become Spanish linguists.
Vaya con Dios!
