Physical Education Online Instruction Information

If physical education must take place online, students in grades 3-8 will utilize the grade level Physical Education Google Classroom to access instruction, activity ideas, activity logs, and to submit assignments.  Classwork will be required, and grades will reflect online participation and completion of activities and assignments. 

Online Physical Education Class will require completing a weekly activity log, which will be posted on Google Classroom. Students will record their activity participation on the log and submit it at the end of the week.  Students will be expected to participate in physical activity at least two times a week for 45 minutes each day.  The CDC recommends 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity 5-7 days a week, so I encourage you to participate in physical activity more than what is required for PE.  Periodically, additional assignments will be given.  Some may require a submitted picture or video of the activity the student is engaging in.  If you have questions or concerns as to how to upload images or videos to Google Classroom, please ask.

Activity ideas, as well as any needed instruction, will be posted for each week on the PE Google Classroom.  Please use these resources for the two required days of physical activity and record the activities you participated in on the activity log.  If additional activity time is needed for the two required days, feel free to participate in a physical activity of choice.  I encourage you to participate in personal choice activities or the suggested weekly activities the remaining five days on the activity log.

Students in 3rd-8th grade will receive 10 points each day for completing the required physical activities and logging them on the activity log.  To receive full credit, the activity log must be submitted by the Monday morning of the following week.

Students required to participate in online instruction due to having an illness, will be handled on a case by case basis.  The severity of the illness will need to be communicated so appropriate accommodations can be made for the student.
