Year Overview

In this part of the course you will learn in more depth about the criminal justice system and how it operates. You will gain a greater understanding of the processes that underpin a criminal investigation, whilst learning about interesting case studies to bring your learning to life.

You will also learn about the policies underpinning the criminal justice system and the different theories surrounding crime and punishment.

In your second year of Criminology, you will have the opportunity to take part in visits to the Old Bailey and conferences; as well as taking part in a forensic workshop run by ex-detectives which will take you through the whole criminal investigation process, from crime scene to courtroom.
