RESPONSIBLE TECHNOLOGY USE AGREEMENT
The Chromebook, use of the Internet and other district-approved technologies are intended to further student learning, growth and development in the Tri-Village Local School District. Students and staff must adhere to the use of the Internet, apps, and hardware in an appropriate and responsible manner, conforming to network etiquette, courtesies and guidelines. Failure to adhere to these guidelines will result in disciplinary action, including referrals and suspension of privileges. Tri-Village Local School District is not responsible for damages to personal technologies or other wireless communication devices.
DISTRICT TECHNOLOGY EXPECTATIONS
- Follow the teacher’s instructions for Internet use, email, chat rooms, and social networks for
- all classroom-related activities.
- Handle all technology equipment with care. You are responsible for all repairs and/or replacement of a damaged Chromebook.
- Follow Chromebook care expectations in the
- 1:1 Tri-Village Local Schools Chromebook Guidelines & Procedures.
Be Respectful & Responsible
- Respect and protect your privacy and the privacy of others.
- Use only your assigned district-issued account.
- Keep personal information such as: full name, address, phone number, etc., off of public websites.
- Keep all passwords secret and observe all district security practices.
- Represent yourself truthfully.
- Respect and protect the integrity, availability, and security of all electronic resources.
- Conserve, protect, and share these resources with other students and Internet users.
- Treat your digital technology with care, report any damages, security risks or violations to a teacher or administrator ASAP.
- Respect and protect the copyrighted/intellectual property of others.
- Cite all sources appropriately.
- Follow all copyright laws.
- Respect and practice the principles of community.
- Communicate only in ways that are kind, responsible, respectful, safe and lawful.
- Obtain permission before taking/using photos, videos or images of other people.
- Use only school-appropriate web content, language, images and videos.
- Report threatening or offensive materials to a teacher or administrator.
- Protect personal identity and the identity of others online.
- All web publishing and social media use by students is strictly prohibited.
- Use all equipment and systems carefully, following instructions.

The following steps and information must be filled out completely prior to obtaining your Chromebook. Failure to complete the following information will delay your Chromebook being issued.
- I have read and understand the district technology expectations and the 1:1 Chromebook Guidelines and Procedures. I understand that my failure to follow the information and expectations outlined in these documents may result in disciplinary action.
