Student Use, Accountability, and Responsibility
K-6 will store their chromebooks in their classroom, at a fixed amount of 20. These will be replaced on an as needed or 6 year basis; whichever comes first. At the MS/HS level, we will assign 1 student 1 chromebook at the beginning of their 7th grade year. This chromebook will follow them until the end of their career where we will explore options of recycling, allowing the student to purchase the chromebook, or reusing it again at the 7th grade level. It will be expected, during year one, that teachers incorporate at least one lesson per week utilizing technology that require students to use their chromebooks. Students will be required to provide their own headphones and mice. During year one, a single group of students will be selected to pilot the process of allowing students to take their devices home. In subsequent years we will expand the program until our student population has the ability to take their chromebook home on a regular basis. It should be noted that all students, whether using at home or at school, are responsible to follow our guidelines regarding acceptable use. Below is a reminder of the consequence breaking the rules.
