Attendance

"Every Day Matters" at Trenton's Ninth Grade Academy and beyond. That's why Connect Trenton works with you, your family, and school staff to promote attending school each and every day.

Students who consistently attend school experience higher academic achievement and better test scores, fostering future success and creating better opportunities. That's why Connect Trenton is proud to partner with Trenton Public Schools. Find out more about Parent Connect and see why Every Day Matters.

If you are experiencing difficulties attending school, we want to work with you! Students with chronic absenteeism (10% or more absences) will be invited to work with the school to develop an Attendance Improvement Plan, which may include a referral to Connect Trenton.

About Mr. Thompson

Luke Thompson has been Connect Trenton Coordinator since 2018. Before that, he served as a social worker in Trenton, helping individuals with severe and persistent mental illness transition from homelessness into secure and safe housing. He is passionate about helping people build better futures and is excited to take on this role.

Mr. Thompson holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Juniata College and a Master of Arts in Counseling from The College of New Jersey. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, gardening, volunteering, and spending time with friends and family.

About Connect Trenton

School staff and faculty work hard to support students and help them achieve their academic and personal goals but do not often have enough time to follow-up with non-academic student needs. Connect Trenton provides a staff member with the flexibility to support students and staff while serving as a referral source and connection point for out-of-school youth services.

Connect Trenton is made possible by the All Kids Thrive Initiative of the Princeton Area Community Foundation and is administered by The College of New Jersey’s Capital City Youth Violence Coalition in partnership with Trenton Public Schools. PACF’s goal is to strengthen and insulate the educational pipeline so “All Kids Thrive from Birth to 25.”
