To be considered for institutional approval for your research project, you must first obtain the relevant certification.
Once you have completed the required tests, your scores will be recorded and received by the IRB Committee. You will receive a certificate via email if you meet the requirements for a certificate. If you have questions or need the certificate more quickly, please contact irb@transy.edu and request that your certificate be sent to you as soon as possible.
If you are a student proposing research with human participants and are seeking IRB approval, you will need to complete
the Ethical Considerations - Human Participants module and test
the IRB Procedures module and test
with a score of 80% or higher.
Also, please check with your professor concerning the Research Methodology module and test. They may ask you to complete that as well.
If you are a student proposing research with animal subjects and are seeking IACUC approval, you will need to complete
the Ethical Considerations - Animal Subjects module and test with a score of 80% or higher.

It is highly recommended but not required that you view the IRB Procedures module if you have questions about Transy's IRB procedures.
If you are faculty supervising student researchers, you can require students to complete the Research Methodology module and test as part of the certification process.
