Fees
Health Care plans set rates according to their own policies and procedures. To put it simply, the insurance companies determine the fee schedule, not your counselor. Each carrier has different rates they reimburse for mental health services. We do our best to work with your insurance plan to help cover costs. However, there are hundreds of different insurance plans and we strongly encourage clients to call their insurance company and ask about their benefits for mental health, sometimes called behavioral health or psychotherapy. Be sure to ask about the deductible and copay, some require these to be met and others do not. You can find a customer service phone number on the backside of your insurance card.
Each practitioner is committed to doing their best work for each client. As you may expect, when you set up a session that time is blocked off just for you. If you are not able to attend, this time that was dedicated for you is now unable to be filled with another person seeking services. We know that emergencies happen on occasion, but please be respectful of your practitioner’s time that has been reserved for you. If you need to reschedule, please allow 24 hours’ notice so we can offer that time to another person needing service.
Low Cost Sessions
For those without insurance or who have a high deductible, we also offer sessions with our student intern(s) who are completing their master’s degrees or doctorate. Our interns are supervised by an experienced therapist and can be an affordable way to get help. If an intern is not available, we may offer a sliding scale fee that will be based on household size and income. No one will be refused service if they cannot afford to pay.
*No one will be denied access to services due to an inability to pay; there is a discounted/sliding fee schedule available based on family size and income.*
