The girls will create a character that has a need for an outfit with smart or fantastical features. They will design and build a prototype of their costumes and the smart feature using the LilyPad Protosnap Plus e-textiles development platform.
Introduce the general challenge to the girls. Create a costume with smart features (one sensor and two outputs, one of which can be an LED). It should fit into the overall theme that the entire group decides on.
As a whole group, brainstorm themes and then vote on which theme to do. Have the girls individually brainstorm some ideas for what a section that they want to work on would be. Have them pitch their ideas to each other to form project teams.
