Term 3:1

Term 3.1 has been another successful term, with many sporting and academic achievements. We have seen the IGCSE exams commence, and the determination and hard-work from the year 11 cohort is evident. Our year 11 pupils have been exemplary role models to our younger students and have set the tone for assessment weeks in secondary. All students have proved their resilience this half-term and they should be proud of themselves.

Year 7 pupils in Geography have been revising for their end of year examination by creating river drainage basins using play-doh and creating dances to show how rivers erode.

During this term, the secondary houses have been busy raising money for charity. Amazon House held a charity volleyball match, where pupils played against the staff team. It was a very close game but the students won in the end, with a score 25-22. Well done for all of those who participated.

Vulcan house organised a computer game championship which was played on the main stage. Pupils battled it out to win at various computer games, all in the name of a good cause, as all money raised was donated to Boonchoo House, our school charity.

Pegasus house managed to raise donations to charity by all pupils working together to complete 100 laps of the school track as a team.

Heads Hot Chocolate

Congratulations to those pupils who achieved 'Heads hot chocolate' this term.

Our annual swimming gala was a huge success; it was fantastic to see so many pupils competing and trying their best. Congratulations to all of our swimmers and their amazing achievements.

Press gang ECA

During our ECA sessions, the Press Gang has been busy over the last few weeks interviewing students and staff on a myriad of topics ranging from how we can best improve the school to how people are preparing for the up and coming International Day. They are learning many different skills including report writing, photography and video editing, while also busily working in teams to problem solve on how to best release the first Press Gang’s news reports to the public. Stay tuned for their first press release!

Year 7 English

Year 7's topic this term was 'What makes the news'. The pictures here show the pupils working together to create a TV news bulletin. They learnt how to write, draft and edit several news stories and put it into a 2 minute bulletin.

Year 9 Drama

Year 9 pupils have been looking at human and civil rights in their drama lessons this term. Here, the students are working in small groups to role-play the poem 'Limbo' by Edward Kamau Brathwaite which tells the story of how he became a slave.

In the document below you will find an overview of what each year will be taught in each subject next half-term.
